USTA LEAGUE MAY - JULY
RYE RACQUET CELEBRATES SWEEP !!!!
Our Metropolitan Interclub Tennis League (MITL) women's doubles teams won all three Flight 1 divisions -A, B and C-in 2010 competition, repeating our 2005 and 2008 record. The Hudson Valley Tennis League (HVTL) C2 team also won their Flight 1 division this year.
The MITL is women's doubles team competition among clubs throughout Westchester from May through June. The Rye Racquet Club has a long history of success in team tennis competition.
In addition, the women's 4.0 team, the RYESING STARS, won the Eastern Section to qualify for the national championships in Tucson, Arizona. Rye Racquet's 10.0 Mixed team also won the Eastern section to qualify for the national championships.
The Rye Racquet Club hosts six USTA women's teams at 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, & 5.0 levels. The format is 2 singles and 3 doubles. Each player must be a member of the United States Tennis Association and their playing level must be verified by a certified U.S.T.A. official. The season runs from the beginning of May through the beginning of July. Matches are played in the evening beginning at 7:00pm and practices are held in the day or evening, depending on the team.
